Principal Theresa Crumb
Former member of the Royal Ballet School
Theresa began ballet at the age of 7, with Janet and Leo Kersley in Harlow. After training for 9 years she danced Clara in The Nutcracker, and at 15 years old, danced with world famous Japanese star Hideo Fukagawa in the Blue-Bird pas-de-deux from Sleeping Beauty. She went on to dance the lead role in the same ballet, and successfully auditioned to join the Royal Ballet School.

During her career as a Classical and Contemporary dancer Theresa appeared globally. She danced for thirteen years in Germany at the acclaimed Theater des Westens, Berlin, appearing in ballets which lead to televised and guest appearances in the Odeon Theatre, Paris. Musicals such as Cabaret and Oliver! were also performed. During this period she appeared for three years consecutively in the hit musical My Fair Lady.

Theresa as Aurora, aged 15
Theresa appeared numerously in German television productions as a soloist, and established herself as assistant Choreographer with well-know American choreographer Gene Reed. She later became Company Ballet Mistress and Assistant Choreographer for the State Theatre of Muenster, Germany. In Munich she worked as a dance therapist for the disabled, working with the German Health authorities to develop a programme of free movement.

Throughout her career, Theresa continued to teach freelance to Professional Dancers and vocational students as an invited guest teacher.

She returned to England in June 1998, and founded Ballet First in May 1999, where she continues to teach and choreograph to vocational and non-vocational dance students.
